“1001 fontaines pour demain” and the local NGOs
In order to facilitate the acceptance of the solution within the village, it is preferable that the project be implemented with the support of an NGO already present in the village, who can guide the Operator in the early stages and help to educate the population on water quality and hygiene. This NGO does not have to have any particular expertise in the area of water treatment (for example, the
Enfants du Mékong NGO in the first Cambodian
projects).
For Phase 2 of the Cambodian Project, four local NGOs (in addition to the main player, the NGO DEEP have been rallied to help the proposed villages with the implementation of the project:
- ADA : Agricultural Development Action (a Cambodian NGO)
- CARE Cambodge : A member of the CARE International network
- BFD : Buddhism for Development (a Cambodian NGO)
- NLC : New Life for Cambodia (a Cambodian NGO)
